It’s a Launch Party and you’re all invited!

The cake is made, the catering is ordered, and the invitations have all been sent out and you are at the top of our guest list. Trek Radio and the good folks over at Cryptic and Subspace Radio are once again teaming up to bring you an out of this world gaming experience. The celebration will consist of two main events as we try to accommodate as many timezones as possible.

GMT Centered:

1:30-2:00 PST (4:30-5:00 EST/ 9:30-10:00 GMT): Odyssey Commissioning Reception on Earth Spacedock, in the Ship Requisitions room. Hosted by Adam Ihle, Live on Trek Radio. Other special guests in attendance. In-game Formal Attire Requested.

Happy Birthday Star Trek Online!

Two years ago, Star Trek warped from the static to the digital frontier. Since the launch of Star Trek Online we have explored strange new worlds, immersing ourselves in alien vistas we had previously only imagined. We have sought out new life and interacted with a varying array of new civilizations. We have boldly gone where no game has taken us before.

To honor this monumental anniversary, Trek Radio is leaving no tribble unturned to make sure this is a celebration they’ll be talking about from Earth all the way in the Delta Quadrant.

The good folks at Cryptic will be commissioning the new Odyssey Class Cruiser (designed by Adam Ihle with in-game modifications by art staff Adam “CapnLogan” Williams) and the Klingon BortaS on February 2nd. As part of the festivities Adam Ihle will be live in studio at 3pm PST / 6pm EST to talk about the design process and the overwhelming buzz surrounding the additions of these two Flagships.

More F2P fun with Cryptic and Massively.com

On Tuesday, January 17th, Star Trek Online will be officially free-to-play!

In celebration of the launch, Massively and Trek Radio will be joining Cryptic Studios in welcoming all new and veteran captains. The team is hosting several fun events ranging from costume and trivia events to livestreamed character creation tutorials and dance parties!

In addition to the great prizes awarded all week during Trek Radio’s broadcast, you can win up to 5000 STO Promotional Points from Cryptic and Massively! Trek Radio’s costume contest and the dance contest with Subspace-Radio will be livestreamed on Trek Radio TV for 3 hours beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST (11:00 a.m. PST). All other livestreamed events can be viewed during and after the launch party on Massively’s Twitch channel. Join the “trekradio.net” and “F2PLaunchParty” chat channels in-game.

Please join Massively’s columnist Terilynn Shull, STO’s Community Manager Brandon Felczer, and all the Trek Radio DJs as they stream their way through the fun. The festivities begin on Tuesday, so check out the official schedule of events below.

Yeah, I don’t know what all of that means, but I kinda like the part about kindness. 2011 has been kind to us. In fact, it has been a banner year for Trek Radio. We celebrated the first of what will be many anniversaries. We traveled the globe, from Dusseldorf to Las Vegas, to bring you the best, hands-on coverage of all the latest and greatest Star Trek and Sci-Fi inspired events.

Brandon from Cryptic on Trek Radio for PewPew PVP Today!

Brandon Felczer of Cryptic Studios will be joining Trek Radio later today during the latest PVP event which he is hosting for STO players!

The event begins at 8pm GMT / noon PST / 3pm EST.   Here are the plans from Brandon himself:

Let’s plan to meet on Drozana station then and we’ll queue up for public matches. Feel free to come in whichever ship/ class you would like, on either faction. We’ll try and do 30 minutes of space and 30 minutes of ground. Please join Zone chat, the OrganizedPvP channel or the REDALERT channel to see any communication/ instructions from myself.

Doug Drexler returns to Trek Radio this Saturday!

The awesome king of epic-ness and general genius Doug Drexler is returning to Trek Radio this weekend on Saturday 17th December at 11am PST to get us caught up on what he has been up to this year, discuss upcoming ship of the line calendars, his involvement in the TNG Remastering Projects and much more!

Trek Radio has interviewed Drexler two times previously, in December 2010 and January 2011 and his return this weekend will be his third epic appearence.

Earlier This Year…..FedConXX

Earlier this year, Trek Radio attended FedConXX in Dusseldorf, Germany – a fantastic convention where we had the chance to meet alot of great folks!

8 months later, and the official FedConXX DVD is almost ready for release and in preparation for this, IntexDigital have released a couple of promo videos, one of which features Trek Radio in a couple of spots – you can see the video here – Trek Radio can be seen at 1:09, 1:15, and most awesomley at 2:00 – 2:05 where I can be seen chatting with Marina Sirtis and shaking her hand after she roasted me in the press conferance!

Daniel Stahl is back in town!

Yes!!! Daniel Stahl, ex-Executive Producer at Cryptic Studios has posted on the Celebrate Season 5 topic on the STO forums saying “Congrats to the STO Team for all their hard work to get Season 5 live!” But the question, why is he posting as a DEV? Is Dstahl back?

The short answer is….. Yes, our beloved Danny boy is back!

Daniel’s tenure at Cryptic Studios ended in September of this year. He was recruited by Zynga Game Network as Executive Producer involved in the pre-production of a yet to be announced Zynga titles. According to LinkedIn.com, that all ended in December. But that’s not all…confirmation was made on his personal Facebook page when a friend noticed a status change to his job title. The following comment was posted by Stahl on his wall in response:

“I missed the Cryptic Family. Excited to be back working on MMOs. You should come back too! :)
